Freelancer: HD Edition is a mod that aims to improve every aspect of the game Freelancer (2003) while keeping the look and feel as close to vanilla as possible. Experience enhanced visuals with HD textures, high-quality soundtracks, and seamless gameplay with bug fixes and quality of life improvements. The mod is fully compatible with the original game, allowing for seamless integration into vanilla servers. Easy to install and customize, it revitalizes the beloved Freelancer experience for modern systems.

This mod was made possible with the help of the Freelancer: Nomad Legacy developers. Thanks to them for providing us their station textures.

Recommendations

Due to the large file size of many textures used in this mod, some users may experience significantly longer load times during gameplay. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to install Freelancer: HD Edition on an (M.2) SSD.

For the best vanilla Multiplayer experience with this mod, check out the Zoner Universe server. Also be sure to have a look at the Freelancer Universe mod and server which are both compatible with Freelancer: HD Edition.
